When (author) J. K. Rowling was writing the Harry Potter series, I was one of those people waiting for her to write the next book. I lived in London at the time and always made sure I got a copy as soon as I could. If it meant lining up in a big queue, then that’s what I did.
I went to London in my mid-20s to travel but ended up getting residency and stayed about nine years. I came home in my mid-30s with a partner (Jaye Fenelon, 55) and a daughter (Bryce, now 15).
When we returned to Australia, Bryce was quite ill with a blood disease.
